Poor Wayfaring Stranger is a well-known American folk and gospel song written in the early 1800’s about a plaintive soul on the journey through life. There have been many versions recorded including Burl Ives, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Natalie Merchant and Paul Robeson. Rhiannon’s version ranks right up there with the best of them.
