fabio Pirozzolo, “Voice of the Iguana,”
from:You Tube Session
Born in Italy, Fabio Pirozzolo came to the United States in 2002 to enroll at Berklee College of Music. Fortunately for us he has never left. I was fortunate to see him at the lovely Groton Hill Music Center in a trio with Mike Block (cello) and Kinan Azmeh (clarinet). Fabio played the trap set, assorted frame drums and provided powerful vocals.Voice of the Iguana is a short tamburello solo. The tamburello is an Italian frame drum similar to the Irish bodhran.
